Meaning

Printing

Mnemonic

You take out a flag, lay a towel below it, and use your knife to carve the pattern through them both. Voila! This is exactly how old printing presses used to work.

The old way of printing involved taking the pattern you want (the flag), pressing it against the place you want to print it (the towel), then just slicing that sucker on there (with the knife).

Mnemonic

As you get your flag ready for printing you look over and see Satsuki (さつ), who's already finished a nice pattern on her towel. She's a little young to be using a knife, but her print came out nice.

You know her pretty well at this point, so try to imagine what kind of printing Satsuki would make. Picture her holding it up to show you.
