Shiso, Japanese Perilla
noun
What could a purple revive be? This actually means shiso, or Japanese Perilla, and it's a type of herb commonly used in Japanese cuisine. You can remember this refers to a plant by the flowers radical in 蘇. You might also want to google "shiso," as you'll notice how some of them have purple leaves! Note that, as with other plant and tree species, you'll often encounter this being written in katakana as well.
